She no doubt added to her vulnerabilities during a difficult time, but other university presidents got caught up here and made the same mistakes during the senate hearings, and are still employed. If anybody had really cared about the plagiarism issue, it would have come up when she was appointed in July. Her enemies saw blood in the water.

Among a certain type of people, her appointment was dismissed immediately as a diversity hire.
